Date: 1/2/2012 It is 2 am, well 1:57 am to be exact, but who needs exact measures anyways? I drove an hour away to visit a friend today. We had so much fun, it was simple, nothing extravagant and it was better then I planned. We walked around the downtown area and visited and art gallery of types. The woman is so incredibly talented, her brushstrokes were clean and simple. She makes painting look easy.
I'm very excited that I did the trip by myself. Normally I would be way to nervous and beg someone to go with me, but I had the choice this time of either a) someone going with me to pick up my friend and being embarrassed, because what 22 year old can't drive an entire hour to someplace new to meet a friend?, or B) go by myself, avoid humiliation, and feel a sense of appreciation that I did it all by myself and I am improving as a driver. I chose B. I'm very pleased.
I am pleased to say I did try something new also today, I had Thai food! I had a Papaya Salad with some sort of Peanut Dressing. It was very sweet but very spicy at the same time. The menu said Medium- Slight Kick, Mild- Tangy, American Hot- hot enough for most spicy enthusiasts, thai hot- extremely spicy. So naturally my friend I picked Medium. Yeah right, that was so not medium spicy. It was so spicy that my lips were burning, my nose was running, and my eyes were watering. Also, after a while it got to be too much and I just couldn't finish it.
We had some stress at the house tonight, I won't go into it, but I think another thing for me to improve upon is to handle stressful situations better. I can't really comment on how I am doing with that, considering I haven't even started. I do hope however, that sooner rather then later I can learn to not panic in certain situations that normally i do.
Date: 1/4/2012
I am telling you it was such a thrill to do that by myself. I think I may do it more often. Once I learn the route by heart I can sit back and relax, the drive takes forever, but it was so worth it to spend some time with a good friend. I've known her since high school. It's actually kind of a funny story, my Extremely Good Friend/Best Friend in High School was friends with the girl I met with on New Years Day, first. When my HS VGF(Very Good Friend) introduced us we hit it off right away. We did Art Club together and chatted all the time. My VGF introduced us because I needed someone to be friends with when she left to go live with her mother 2 hours away.
We had similar styles, and opinions. We had our differences, however, that was what made us unique individuals and such great friends. So when VGF moved away we hung out at school a lot. She helped me get out of my shell and make new acquaintances and lunch buddies. So when VGF moved back, I didn't need her as much, I wasn't as clingy, which was a very good thing.
After High School ended we lost contact for a while. It wasn't until I was working at Macy's my Freshman year of college did I see my friend from school again. We exchanged numbers, and unfortunately my BlackBerry Curve had accidentally deleted all my numbers and information from the cell phone. At this time I didn't do Facebook, it was just MySpace, so again we lost contact. But, my sister kept pushing me to get a Facebook account and I finally conceded, I'm not sure how much time went by, but somehow we discovered each other on FaceBook. Most likely through mutual friends. That's a story for another time.
But, we've been chatting back and forth for about a year now and I finally got the courage up to ask if she wanted to hang out on New Years Day, and well you all know what happened.
I'm telling you all, it feels good to go out an explore new places. As long as you have your handy dandy GPS on you, hopefully an updated version, you can meet people and maybe even try something new. We're even going to see each other again, I'm going to drive up again during the week next time, and we'll spend even more time together.
Onto the Music Portion and Books of My Blogging experience:
Books:
I haven't actually read any this week, I am again, re-reading, The Old Man and The Sea by Ernest Hemingway. I wish I had more to give you today, but it's such a good book and my favorite that I can't stop reading it.
However, I do have a couple of suggestions.
Bloodlines By Richelle Meade, part of her Vampire Academy Series, but can stand alone. It's about Sydney the Alchemist that was introduced in the second to last book of the VA series. Could be the last one. I have not read it yet, but I am eager. I just need to save up and buy it.
The Art of Racing In The Rain- Garth Stein, it's about a dog who believes he will be human in his next life and convinces his Guardian that he is too old and needs to go to sleep. I have started it and it is a wonderful tale, but I can't bare to finish reading it since I have a 13 or 14 year old Beagle that is struggling with old age. It's too familiar for me, and I just can't finish it. Not right now. However, I do highly suggest it be read, it is written in the Dogs POV.
Music:
Meg & Dia - Here, Here, and Here (The Album, available for Download on their website.)
Michelle Branch's latest EP- Everything Comes and Goes. (Available for Download on iTunes or any music download website)
That's what I have for you guys for now, I'll try and post some more later this week. I'm going to try and work on another Resolution, working out more often.
Tootles for now,

Thursday, December 29, 2011
It's 8 am and I all week I've been feeling pretty crummy. Lately, my hours are all out of whack. I barely get a decent nights sleep, maybe I'm an insomniac...but, whatever. I figure, the more I write the better I get. I feel like I have no passion. I broke my foot around august of 2011. I do not wan't to go back to Wally World, but I know I may end up back there anyways. I'm giving up on all the New Years Resolution crap. I want to make a change in my life, and if I want to, i will. The New Years Resolution is just a way to make me feel better about changing. We are who we are, at the core of us we don't change, not really. Regardless, we can change how we see the world. Experiences change us. So this upcoming year, in 2012 if there is one thing I am going to change about my self, it's experiencing things. I think I don't really travel or see people because I'm afraid. I can't live my life being afraid of these things, of change, of making a fool out of myself. I can't worry about saying the wrong thing, because ultimately life is far too short to be a scaredy-cat.
I'm going to post as often as I can, I don't post often enough and any of my loyal followers who actually read this little hole in the wall Blog aren't getting anything out of it. I post so scarcely that if I had any followers, they're gone now. So, in all actuality, maybe it's not just about change. Maybe it's also about finding out who I am. Not just talking about my passions, what I read, or write, or what music I listen to, and while all that is fine, there is more to life then superficial things. That just my simple interest's, there's more to me. So, even though I think New Years Resolutions are crap, and we shouldn't wait to the New Year to try and change, maybe I can start on my Finding Me Resolution early.
Maybe I need to do some soul searching. All I can say is when i go back to school, if i go back, I want to take a class on Shakespeare and maybe some writing classes. It'd be nice to say "I'm going to travel downtown for classes more", but it might just be a load of phooey. What I can do, is when I return to school, take a music class as an extra curricular. Do something new. I think that's what is ultimately lacking in my life lately, I am being a dull person. I'm not getting out there and living my 20's I'm staying holed up.
If anyone is out there reading this, I advise you to do the same as me. If you can swing it take a yoga class or a music class. Grab your GPS and do something new. Make a plan for a weekend to go to the lake and snap a few pictures, even if it's winter. Maybe go to the beach, sit by a camp fire and watch the waves. Do something for yourself, do it alone or grab a friend and promise them a cheap subway dinner. To be honest, I can't afford more then those 5 dollar foot longs myself and a tank of gas here and there.
So that's it then, I'll post some music for you guys to listen to and a book or two. So this is it, this is my most honest post to date. It's longer then some and maybe shorter then a few, but it's there and it's honest, and I didn't spew any crap. Again, my email is make5wishes89@yahoo.com, twitter is @TheAuthoress89, and my youtube account is LiveLaughLove8489, and finally my more artistic videos on Vimeo is vimeo.com/user9325706
Feel free to hit me up, as my questions, suggestions, etc.
Books:
Old Man and The Sea by Hemmingway.
I can't believe how many times I've read this book, it's absolutely my favorite. Must be atleast my 20th time reading it this year at the least. Good thing I have a NookColor, otherwise my paperback would be dust.
Music:
Classical music this post, time to expand our tastes a bit. Try something new. Some of my favorites are posted below, but almost anything by Bach I enjoy. Fog is Lifting however is my favorite and I have listened to it so many times it's the most played song on my iTunes.
Dare You To Move by Vitamin String Quartette, if you haven't listened to them yet, I suggest you do so now. They make the popular songs and use just four string instruments to create these amazing peices of music and art that really touches you. They make the songs mean more.
Clare De Lune By Debussy, yes all you Twi-hard fans, I'm adding Debussy, but to be honest it was on my computer before the movies came out and I never read the books until I saw the first movie.
Cello Suite No1 Prelude by Bach
Chairman's Waltz by John Williams
Fog Is Lifting by Orpheus Classical Ensembles
Allegro Festoso from Sonata per Flauto E Arpa by Orpheus Classical Ensembles

On to the music!

Artist Reviews & News:

100 Monkeys
Alexz Johnson....kinda not really.
Adele
100 Monkeys: Ugh, do not get me started on them. Terrible group. Jackson Rathbone's band is reminiscent of teenagers who bang on a bunch of instruments and call themselves a band. While i give Rathbone major props for putting himself out their, their lyrics are complete and total RUBISH! I know! See what they've done to me? I'm not even Brittish! I'm 100% American!
A user on youtube( who'll remain annonymous) wrote: Take away the funny video and the song is actually really deep. Ummm, yeah right. I can hardly hear them with all their jumping all over eachother, to sing a random thought that popped in their head, and that noise they call instrumental music, as if! It's total randomness. how is this a deep? Basically 100 monkeys in a nutshell: Any song is done in 1 take, ( which i totally respect) they make up the lyrics as they go along, they don't sit down and say: "this is what this song should be about, let's create a song" they don't coordinate, so in Ugly Girls, they have no idea who is going to sing what. They just randomly jump in. I'm not a fan of them right now, maybe later.
I get the one take thing, but rehearsal for the song is key, and creating a peice of work with patienc, as well as thinking ahead. I do it for my poetry, and I free write my novel then go back and re do parts. However, if you did like that garage-grunge- we think we're so cool and rock n roll- type band, the by all means respond back. I'll post your opinion up here on my blog! Lyrics have to- nay, should- be understood, have some meaning to it, vocals should be heard clearly, and instrumental shouldn't be louder then vocals. In this case, none of that is heard with 100 monkeys.
I'll give you guys a chance to check them out and see for yourself if you like them or not.
Alexz Johnson VooDoo: This album has been long awaited. She sounds good, and thank the lord she did not use that Mailman song that was leaked to youtube. Some of her stuff was not that great. However, it seems with persistance and perseverance that she was able to write many great songs that fit her personality. Alexz Johnson from Instant Star, wrote all of her songs on it and recently has a rebooted version out. Also, check out her youtube page at:http://www.youtube.com/user/ItsAlexzJohnson
Her new song Skipping Stones is a soulful song about love and pretending to move on. The moment she started singing I swear I could feel my heart skip a beat, (all you Alexz fans...no pun intended). It has a bluesy sort of rhythm with a slow indie/soft rock feel to it. She even covered her own song Skin from Instant Star Season 1x09 the episode after Unsweet Sixteen.
The lyrics are really pulling at my heart strings. When Alexz sings, it may not be the best voice out there, she's no Marissa Von Bleicken. Most certainly not Adele, but she has this presence about her and her music that just gives you this really organic sound and feel to it. I certainly am unable to stop listening to her song... it's free for download at her website or on here.
A lot of the music on the album has a very retro feel, a bit of Johnny Cash and a bit of 40's inspired music.
Ryan Star- Breath
Phenomanal vocals, I happen to prefer his live acoustic to his studio version. The music itself is good, the lyrics are wonderful, his whole overall sound is really good. He has this scratchy sound to his live acoustic version that makes you want to melt. You can feel his emotions through this song, and it feels like Art and emotions rolled in to one. It's a unique song about not letting the world get to you, all the stress and pain in your life can be manageable if you just....breath.
Marie Digby: Oh my gosh, I discovered her youtube page a while back and I am seriously hooked on her. Go check her out. Her music has a different sound to it, nothing like you hear on the radio. If you are sick of everything on the radio, like I am, then she is breath of fresh air. Like being stuffed up in the house for weeks, and you finally step out side into the fresh, crisp, early winter/ late fall air. It feels great, and my ears are pretty happy too!
Songs to listen to:
Pappa Roach: Last Resort
Pappa Roach: Scars
Linkin Park: Bleed it Out
Linkin Park: Leave Out All The Rest
Paramore; Crush Crush Crush
Paramore: We Are Broken
Paramore: The Only Exception
Taylor Swift: Mine
Feist: 123
Alexz Johnson: Hurrican Girl
Jasper Forks( Coinky Dink?*shrugs*): River Flows In You
Yurima (The Original Version): River Flows In You
Shaina Twait: Up!

Being Gay and The Bible-My Opinion Whether You Want it Or Not
Me on Human Rights
Warning Will Robinson! Warning!: If you are easily offended about being Gay or a Christian or hearing about religion or same sex love or this is illegal where you are to read about same sex or religion then turn back now! You were warned.
Disclaimer: I am not gay, this is just basic Human Rights and and about my personal opinion of why God loves everyone and does not send us to hell for being Gay. There is so much worse that could happen and if we find love who are we to deny it whether it comes in girl form or boy form. XD Also I am christian, but I don't like it when others push their religion on someone, 1. it makes them feel uncomfortable 2. they think your a nut ball and 3. They feel uncomfortable around you. You can lead a horse to water people but you can not make it drink.
"So, let me get this straight...Charlie Sheen can make a "porn family", Larry King can be on divorce #9, Britney Spears had a 55 hour marriage, Jesse James and Tiger Woods, while married, were having sex with pretty much EVERYONE. Yet, the idea of same-sex marriage is going to destroy the institution of marriage? Really? Re-post if you support equal rights."
Is it really enough to post? To say we agree? this shit happens everyday, but those were all hetero sexual marriages, porn or otherwise. We as a people, don't do change well. When we change it takes forever and it's often not pretty. Look what happened when we 'divorced' England? What happened when school's change their dress codes? What happened when we abolished slavery? What happened when Rosa Parks had to do her thing for a damn seat on the bus? Which i totally think she's the coolest, one of many most inspiring modern women... What happened when we integrated schools? With Animal testing? Vivisection?
If we change, it needs to be a personal change, for us, for the future, and we teach our kids that. So maybe today, Gay people may not be able to marry or really have a relationship, but look how much changed in the past 100 years? No one dared 'come out of the closet' back then. 30 years ago, people did therpay, considered it a disease, a mental disorder. We fight for what we belive in, we will talk to our children and they will grow up believeing in Love period, gay or straight. Then they will be the ones to really make changed happen, it takes time. So long as we teach our future generations human rights, then, someday who knows, maybe it will be as excepted as a straight couple.
Me on God, Religion, The Bible, and being gay
I believe in God and that amazing person but I feel that the bible which was written THOUSANDS of years ago IN A DIFFERENT TIME!!!! is more of aguide book. Like what our parents do, we can chose to listen to them and let them guide us on the right path in our lives. Thats what the bible is.
The translation has changed, so unless you can read Latin and have the original bible then I'm sorry, but I believe a God who loves us all no matter what, would be fine with same sex couples. Sure it may be a bit awkward for some, but get over it. In Gods eyes we are all brothers and sisters so does that make getting married and having sex with a man incest?
No. We are human and we feel these wonderful human emotions and we feel love for people. Some more than others. I think God is all for a wonderful loveing monogamous relationship be it straight or gay. God loves us period. We commit sins everyday. I also do not find it fair for others to force their opinions about this. I feel it is unfair that there is such hatred over such a trivial thing.
I think Christians and Mormans and any christian based religion and religion period, really, needs to stop forcing their beliefs on others every chance they get.
Growing up my mom has taught me many things, one being that Sex is connectionless, making love and sharing your bodies with a tenderness and a passionate ove is different. Making love is beautiful, sex is a quick roll around in the hay. Making Love and Having sex are what Straight people do too.
Free Music Download of The Post:
This song is free from their website. Amazing ladies with very lovely voices. This one is by Meg Frampton of Meg And Dia one of my favorite bands.

New Stuff
Ok, so I know it's been a while, but school started, and I've started to keep my journal well, elsewhere. As in, hardcopy, as in non computer, as in a notebook. Le Gasp! I know, I know, how can i trust simple ink and paper? It's easy, it's the stuff i was born with. My birth certificate is on paper.
Anyways, so updates.
Where I live I have had my test post poned 2 times b/c of snow days. I live in Virginia, that's like...unheard of. Snow! Who'd of thunk it? Thank God! I haven't studied really, other than the other look over everything real quick for ten minutes once in three days, but other than that. No, not really. Bummer. I did study last night, and turned out we didn't have the test after all. So all that studying for nothing. Well not really. A cold's been going around, and with my bad luck, I caught it. Now i need to see the doctor. Whoo!
New Music Downloads! Yes, you heard me, I am posting two discovery groups, along with two reviews for each one

My Book:
It's coming along, I haven't really done anything on it, but i have started writing some fan-fictions. I have 4 written so far, and 3 completed.
Music Review For Eloise:
I have to admit, I'm usually a tough critic about music. I have a firm understanding of how I believe music should be, in any genre be it rock-rap. You got to be good at it, real talent, and have a good ear for it
I am always going on about how nasal that person is or how this person shouldn't have a c.d.
For example: lyrics have to be understood, have some meaning to it, vocals should be heard clearly, and instrumental shouldn't be louder then vocals. Usually, when I listen to somebody they have to be able to sing in their proper genre of music they are best at. I.E: Miley Cyrus Country Pop, not pop alone. Taylor Swift: country pop, pop would ruin her songs.
And I believe that Eloise fits all of my criteria for a good band. Now I do not know how long they will be around, I do suggest that children do not listen to Eloise if only b/c they won't understand the depth and quality of the songs. Especially Kill You or Parasite. This music is definitely more Early Adults Late teens.
So, I have listened on Mixpod.com to all of their songs. Each one is of amazing quality. "Kill you" so far is my favorite song. It talks about leading a double Life. I love their music, it's a definite change of pace from all that Mainstream Music out their in the world. Eloise is a breath of fresh air. Fantastic Vocals, I’m not talking phantom of the opera fantastic but perfect vocals for that Folksy, Indie, Pop, and Soft Rock kind of thing/vibe.Bottom line, if you're into all types of music, and you like understanding what's being said, Eloise is it! Like I said b4 they have this mellow, soft rock, Indie, Pop Folksy vibe going on. They remind me of Renaissance a fantastic group from the 60's or 70's. But I love this c.d. and I am stuck on them. If Eloise keeps this up, they've just made a fan out of me.
Keep in mind that this is not Eloise, from Eloise christmas or any cartoon. but i Guarantee if you enjoy what i described above you will like them.

The Stunners:
I found that Dancin' Around the Truth is an addictive song. It's a great dance track, and you can sing along. Their vocals aren't the greatest. But together they sound great. This song is great for any teenager or person in their 20's. It may be a little too mainstream for some people, but be warned it's pop music.
It's not the best song out their, but these girls sing, dance, and write their own music.
Bubblegum isn't their best song, I found it to be very auto tuned, almost as much at T.I or Ke$ha, on the other hand it's great for any body that wants pure pop, and doesn't care if it's auto tuned or not.
Dancin' Around the Truth is very addictive, the vocals are pretty awesome in this, nothing phenomenal, but clearly heard, good singing, maybe a little nasal, however, it is bearable. I'm pretty picky for music, but when i heard this i couldn't stop listening. It's got a pop, mainstream, adult pop, thing going on.
The vocals are clearly heard over the instruments, their wasn't any cursing, and I didn't need to google the lyrics to know what was said. It doesn't have any hidden meaning which is great, you don't have to be an adult to understand the song. Which happens to be about some guy cheating on their girlfriend, who believed that person until they saw the evidence. It's a love circus, they love this person, but angry that they cheated. The guy hates the girl b/c she accuses him of cheating, which he did. Both are angry, but both are in love, and in lust.
The worse that was said in the song was 'turn you on' and 'nobody b.s.'s like you do'. I'v heard worse on the radio. A good group for those who like pop music but not the Hannah Montanna/Miley Cyrus type thing. It's a great alternative. I suggest buying the e.p on itunes
Erin McCarley- Pony(it's ok)
Despite the song title, which gives you no insight into what the song is about, is a very good song. Erin's voice comes out loud and clear, and understandable. She fit's my idea of a ;good singer' to a T. She is not Nasal, She can be heard over the instrumental background, got a unique voice, the song is catchy. I believe it's about being free and enjoying the day for it is, tell what your feeling don't hide anything, don't give in, and do it your way.
I can't get it out of my head, even though i've played it many times. Free Download at the bottom with links. So go click for the song. The rest of her stuff you gotta buy.

Take a hint
After some much needed break from R-Patz fanclub, i decided to take a look at his "american Accent", yes my loving, and adoring fans, i put american Accent in quotes. R-Patz take a hint, your voice kinda sucked in twilight. You need to work on that, take a clue from Xena: Warrior Princess actress Lucy Lawless, fantastic Actress
Lucy Lawless is from New Zealand, and perfect her accent for Xena. Don't you think RPatz should've too, especially for a much to do, movie series/book series? I do. So my fellow, bloggers I think it is time to send poor R-Patz(btw- he smokes pot) for voice acting lessons. His acting is pretty good, i liked it for the most part, but his american accent needs some work. Lucy lawless, not only speaks in it, she sings in her accent. It really is a fantastic job, i love how she can stress certain points in her accent as she would her own. Growing up, i had no clue she wasn't american. My hats off to you Lucy Lawless, you rock. Even in your movie Locusts.
R-Patz, good actor, not bad looking but recently, after watching the movie: The Haunting of Conneticut, i felt that the lead male, suited the tortued vampire look/whole thing better.
Also, who's seen the Vampire Diaries, so it's not the same as the books, but it's got a good twist, and i like how it's only based off of, not the actual show for the actual book, does that makes sense? anyways i think the guy who plays Stefan Salvatore is the new "Mr. Broody Face"
Heres the original Vampire Broody face:
David Boreanaz, warning may not be suitable for children under age of 15, and elderly ladies over the age of-- may cause heart attack, on second thought, i think i may have a heart attack.
and the New one:
Paul Wesley, he doesn't look like a paul. That's the same thing i said about the rock, Dwayne Johnson? Seriously? That is so not Rock worth.

2010 Alice in Wonderland...i can't wait.
I can not wait until 2010...not only will i be legal...all of 21 by then buuuut...ALICE IN WONDERLAND by Tim Burton is going to come out in March of 2010...i absolutely love the book the series....it's my thing...my cousin/friend/other sister/whatever....is Tinkerbell....but i love Alice in Wonderland i'm absolutely captivated by it.....so according to movie star style Johnny Depp *sigh* is going to be playing the Mad Hatter, i can't wait to see how that turns out. He is definitly the perfect choice for Mad Hatter, he always plays such unique rolls in films. As for Alice unknown Mia Wasikowska. She's definitly very pretty, a nice choice for alice.
Tim burton his films always have a slightly dark feel to them. Not the usual fairy tale, take Corpse Bride for example. I just really like Tim Burtons films, his style is unique and it's not the norm. He seems to be, to me in the very least, almost a modern day Edgar Allen Poe. But without the suicidal tendancies, uhh that i know of. I fell in love with the way he directs his movies and has the lightings. He definitly knows what he is doing, i think that this is going to be another wonderful attempt at capturing the whole Alice leaving her demension and going off all alone by herself.
If you think about it a little girl 12 years old maybe a bit older, somehow falls down a rabbit hole, she hits her head wakes up and is all alone. She can't find a way out. She's thirsty drinks a bottle and somehow she shrinks. Do read the original book, it is not quite the same as the disney cartoon. I feel that Alice is a bit of a darker fairy tale, but in the end i believe it has a good ending a bad dream if anything. But at this point alice must be confused, she might even have trouble telling the difference between reality and wonderland....if that makes sense. So that is why i think Tim Burton will have done a wonderful job on Alice.
"movie stars: Mia Wasikowska as Alice, Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen, Matt Lucas as Tweedledee and Tweedledum. Michael Sheen plays the White Rabbit, Alan Rickman – Caterpillar, Christopher Lee – Jabberwock, Stephen Fry – Cheshire Cat and Crispin Glover stars as The Knave of Hearts."( First Look at Alice in Wonder Land teaser trailer.Par.3)
