New Stuff

Ok, so I know it's been a while, but school started, and I've started to keep my journal well, elsewhere. As in, hardcopy, as in non computer, as in a notebook. Le Gasp! I know, I know, how can i trust simple ink and paper? It's easy, it's the stuff i was born with. My birth certificate is on paper.

Anyways, so updates.

Where I live I have had my test post poned 2 times b/c of snow days. I live in Virginia, that's like...unheard of. Snow! Who'd of thunk it? Thank God! I haven't studied really, other than the other look over everything real quick for ten minutes once in three days, but other than that. No, not really. Bummer. I did study last night, and turned out we didn't have the test after all. So all that studying for nothing. Well not really. A cold's been going around, and with my bad luck, I caught it. Now i need to see the doctor. Whoo!

Music Review For Eloise:

I have to admit, I'm usually a tough critic about music. I have a firm understanding of how I believe music should be, in any genre be it rock-rap. You got to be good at it, real talent, and have a good ear for it

I am always going on about how nasal that person is or how this person shouldn't have a c.d.

For example: lyrics have to be understood, have some meaning to it, vocals should be heard clearly, and instrumental shouldn't be louder then vocals. Usually, when I listen to somebody they have to be able to sing in their proper genre of music they are best at. I.E: Miley Cyrus Country Pop, not pop alone. Taylor Swift: country pop, pop would ruin her songs.

And I believe that Eloise fits all of my criteria for a good band. Now I do not know how long they will be around, I do suggest that children do not listen to Eloise if only b/c they won't understand the depth and quality of the songs. Especially Kill You or Parasite. This music is definitely more Early Adults Late teens.

So, I have listened on Mixpod.com to all of their songs. Each one is of amazing quality. "Kill you" so far is my favorite song. It talks about leading a double Life. I love their music, it's a definite change of pace from all that Mainstream Music out their in the world. Eloise is a breath of fresh air. Fantastic Vocals, I’m not talking phantom of the opera fantastic but perfect vocals for that Folksy, Indie, Pop, and Soft Rock kind of thing/vibe.Bottom line, if you're into all types of music, and you like understanding what's being said, Eloise is it! Like I said b4 they have this mellow, soft rock, Indie, Pop Folksy vibe going on. They remind me of Renaissance a fantastic group from the 60's or 70's. But I love this c.d. and I am stuck on them. If Eloise keeps this up, they've just made a fan out of me.

Keep in mind that this is not Eloise, from Eloise christmas or any cartoon. but i Guarantee if you enjoy what i described above you will like them.

To really check out the songs and not samples, go to mixpod.com and search Eloise Semantics.

The Stunners:

I found that Dancin' Around the Truth is an addictive song. It's a great dance track, and you can sing along. Their vocals aren't the greatest. But together they sound great. This song is great for any teenager or person in their 20's. It may be a little too mainstream for some people, but be warned it's pop music.

It's not the best song out their, but these girls sing, dance, and write their own music.

Bubblegum isn't their best song, I found it to be very auto tuned, almost as much at T.I or Ke$ha, on the other hand it's great for any body that wants pure pop, and doesn't care if it's auto tuned or not.

Dancin' Around the Truth is very addictive, the vocals are pretty awesome in this, nothing phenomenal, but clearly heard, good singing, maybe a little nasal, however, it is bearable. I'm pretty picky for music, but when i heard this i couldn't stop listening. It's got a pop, mainstream, adult pop, thing going on.

The vocals are clearly heard over the instruments, their wasn't any cursing, and I didn't need to google the lyrics to know what was said. It doesn't have any hidden meaning which is great, you don't have to be an adult to understand the song. Which happens to be about some guy cheating on their girlfriend, who believed that person until they saw the evidence. It's a love circus, they love this person, but angry that they cheated. The guy hates the girl b/c she accuses him of cheating, which he did. Both are angry, but both are in love, and in lust.

The worse that was said in the song was 'turn you on' and 'nobody b.s.'s like you do'. I'v heard worse on the radio. A good group for those who like pop music but not the Hannah Montanna/Miley Cyrus type thing. It's a great alternative. I suggest buying the e.p on itunes

Erin McCarley- Pony(it's ok)
Despite the song title, which gives you no insight into what the song is about, is a very good song. Erin's voice comes out loud and clear, and understandable. She fit's my idea of a ;good singer' to a T. She is not Nasal, She can be heard over the instrumental background, got a unique voice, the song is catchy. I believe it's about being free and enjoying the day for it is, tell what your feeling don't hide anything, don't give in, and do it your way.

I can't get it out of my head, even though i've played it many times. Free Download at the bottom with links. So go click for the song. The rest of her stuff you gotta buy.
